Highlanders Best Insurers in Pitching Duel
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Inverness Highlanders and the Omaha Insurers, 30-year old right-handed pitcher Antony Batticelli was the difference-maker. The Inverness right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. At 26-28, the Highlanders claim 4th place in the Atlantic Alliance Euro-Caribbean.
Jhong-shun Zheng had a direct impact on the outcome. Zheng contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put Inverness up, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Inverness manager Chad Fountain said.
