Youngstown pitcher Ben Ford did his part in helping his team beat the Maine Lobsters, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Ford got the win, improving to 5-1. He gave up 1 hit and walked 4 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. With the win, Youngstown upped its record to 27-26.
Naizen Tsuchiya, who is tied for 7th in the ATAL with a .322 batting average, helped out the Youngstown cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"Ben had good arm action, good stuff," said Youngstown manager Bobby Bryant.
