With 8-3 Win, Seagulls Improve to 29-24
The Narragansett Seagulls defeated the Liverpool Beatles, 8-3, at Narragansett Stadium. Randy Horton, who is tied for 10th in the ATAL with a .318 batting average, was a standout performer for Narragansett. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 3 he knocked in. Dennis Douglas picked up the win in relief for Narragansett, while Ross Malloch took the loss. The win for the Seagulls lifted their record to 29-24.

Had Jake Francis not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Francis hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Seagulls.
