Well, that's how to end a game in style.

The Palm Springs Codgers did just enough to sneak past the Kalamazoo Badgers, 4-3, at Elderberry Field. Palm Springs pitcher Yoshiaga Watanabe, in particular, had a standout performance. Bob Miles, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 0.2 innings.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Palm Springs center fielder Gerardo Morales, facing Meiji Ishikawa, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Codgers the 4-3 win.

"Yoshiaga is a tough competitor," said Palm Springs manager Bob Sullivan.

The victory makes Palm Springs 17-7.
