Jiménez on Fire: 5-for-5 for Scranton
After a 5-hit effort to lead Scranton's 12-2 victory over the Hampton Airborne, right fielder Marcos Jiménez told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Great Northern League-level is really something special."

The 22-year-old player earned his accolades at Airborne Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Airborne.

"His swing is getting there," said Scary Monsters skipper Francisco Escobar, who spoke glowingly of Jiménez after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Marcos did that to perfection."

Marcos Jiménez doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Kichibei Matsumoto in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Jiménez is hitting .335 for the season with 6 home runs, 20 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 52 hits in 155 at-bats and played in 42 games.
