Loggerdoggers Knock Off Highlanders at The Fortress at Inverness

The Beaufort Loggerdoggers defeated the Inverness Highlanders, 3-0, in Atlantic Alliance action at The Fortress at Inverness. Beaufort pitcher Luis Martínez had a standout performance. The winner was Martínez. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Antony Batticelli. Shaun Thomson collected his 6th save.
Beaufort took the lead, 3-0, on Li-hong Kin's 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Inverness pitcher Zhuo-cheng Ow in the top of the ninth.
"They played a better game than we did," said Inverness skipper Chad Fountain.
After today's action, Beaufort sits at 25-19; Inverness slips to 19-25.
