Sea Lions Use Late Surge to Win
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Wes Carlson, the Rockville Reckoning lost to the Monterey Sea Lions, 5-3. Carlson was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Monterey's record now stands at 24-12, placing them first in the Atlantic Alliance South.

Monterey used a timely hit from Kent McCarthy to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sea Lions ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," McCarthy told the Monterey Gazette. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
