Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Youngstown Thunder take on the Scranton Scary Monsters.

In the 9-5 Scranton win over Youngstown, the impact of Marcos Jiménez was substantial. Jiménez, who is tied for 7th in the ATAL in total bases with 64, went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Katsuyuki Sugano got credit for the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings.

Scranton used a well-timed hit by Ernesto González to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Scary Monsters ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," González told the Scranton News.

The second-place Scary Monsters now sit at 21-13.
