The Scranton Scary Monsters faced a tough opponent in Youngstown pitcher Ben Ford, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Thunder Ballpark by a final score of 6-4. Ford went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Orlando Hernández recorded the save, his 3rd. The second-place Scary Monsters improved to 20-13.

Scranton won the game in part because of Marcos Jiménez. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Scary Monsters ahead, 6-4. For the game, Jiménez had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Jiménez. "The only team that can beat us is us."
