Reckoning Lose Contest, 4-3
|
The Omaha Insurers topped the Rockville Reckoning, 4-3, at Cyclones Stadium. Omaha shortstop Kai Berridge was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Omaha reliever José López picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Dong-po Jiu absorbed the loss. By defeating Rockville, the last-place Insurers improved to 12-23.
Berridge contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Omaha in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Berridge took a cutter from Dong-po Jiu and stroked the home run to center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Insurers to leap in front, 4-3.
"When the ball finds the sweet spot," said Berridge, "I can't complain."
