Both teams had their chances, but the Inverness Highlanders eventually prevailed.

In a low-scoring affair between the Inverness Highlanders and the Port-au-Prince Bokors, pitcher William Kerr was the difference between victory and defeat. The Inverness right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Highlanders win. Inverness pitcher Dennis Bauer got the win. He's now 1-0. Edward García was tagged with the loss.

Inverness took a 3-1 lead on Manuel Kruit's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Kruit hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Port-au-Prince pitcher Edward García visibly frustrated.

"William set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Inverness manager Chad Fountain.

The last-place Highlanders now have a win-loss record of 11-19.
