Palm Springs Codgers starter Takashi Yamamoto pitched his team past the Kalamazoo Badgers, 4-2. Yamamoto yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-2. Bob Miles nailed down his 7th save.

Gerardo Morales had a big 2-run double for the Codgers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Palm Springs leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Jay Taylor and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Codgers ahead, 4-0.

"I thought he pitched pretty well," said Palm Springs manager Bob Sullivan. "Takashi did his part."

With the win, Palm Springs is 15-7.
