Monterey Gets 7-3 Win Against Thunder
Monterey third baseman Yugoro Koike contributed significantly to his team's 7-3 win over the Youngstown Thunder. Koike went 2 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Sea Lions. Emery Evans, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 5. With the win, Monterey lifts its record to 3-1.

With Monterey leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Koike hit a fastball from Roberto Marquis for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Sea Lions ahead, 6-2.
