Bears Rough Up Ghosts, 9-1
|
Bakersfield defeated Niihama-shi, 9-1, in large part due to 28-year old left fielder Bernardo Romano. Romano drove in 3 runs. The left fielder had 1 double and 2 home runs for the Bears. The loss drops the Ghosts to 13-10.
Mark MacDonald had a big 2-run double for the Bears in the bottom of the second inning. With Bakersfield leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a circle change from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Orlando Ruíz and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bears ahead, 4-0.
"We were firing on all cylinders," said Bears manager Glen Wallace.
