Florida Beats Gloucester, Goes to 21-2
|
The Florida Farstriders took Gloucester pitcher Lorenzo Santiago's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Paul Moots Stadium. The final score had Florida getting past the Fishermen, 4-3. Santiago went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 3. León Zamora picked up the save for Florida, his 7th of the year. Now 21-2, the 2042 Farstriders have been phenomenal so far.
Gordon Knopp provided a timely hit. The Florida center fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Farstriders on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
In postgame remarks, Knopp applauded his team's "resolve."
