New Jersey Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
San Juan took on New Jersey in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Vicente Díaz, in particular, was fantastic. The San Juan right-hander helped his team snag the win, 1-0. Díaz yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-2. Soseki Yokoyama earned the save for San Juan, his 3rd.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Coqui had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when designated hitter Juan Borges hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Shojiro Goto and made the score 1-0, Coqui. Borges was 1-4.

"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said New Jersey manager Ieyoshi Ishikawa.

The Hitmen drop to 7-16, as their fitful start to the 2042 campaign continues.
