Arroyos Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Yuma Arroyos got the win.
The Yuma Arroyos picked up a win at Salt Lick Stadium, topping the Kalamazoo Badgers, 4-2. On the mound for Yuma was right-hander Elio Polandi. He played a principal role in the triumph. In 6 innings, Polandi surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Terrence Brown locked down his 2nd save.
Yuma took a 3-1 lead on José Corona's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Corona hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kalamazoo pitcher Orlando López visibly frustrated.
"I like what I saw today," said Yuma manager Kiyohisa Takeda, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Badgers, now 6-15, continue their sluggish start.
