The Aurora Borealis got a sterling performance from second baseman Pedro Luján, but the Kalamazoo Badgers still prevailed, 7-4. Luján went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Jay Taylor. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. The left--hander struck out 2 and walked 1. The save was credited to Jesús Carlos, his 4th.

With Kalamazoo leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Vincente Espinosa hit a 2-run single off Aurora pitcher Jung-hyun Yi. It put the Badgers ahead 4-1.

"We take it day by day here," said Espinosa, "and today was a good one for us."
