Akira Lose By a Run at Crystal Lake

The Crystal Lake Sandgnats and Neo-Tokyo Akira completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Crystal Lake Sandgnats cut down the Neo-Tokyo Akira by the score of 4-3, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Wendell Guiney. Guiney went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Sandgnats. León Vega, the winning pitcher, is now 2-0. He went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 1. Noritada Akiyama collected his 3rd save.
With Crystal Lake leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Guiney hit a fastball from P.J. Henry for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Sandgnats ahead, 4-1.
