Hitmen Down Harpoon, 4-2
|
The New Jersey Hitmen and Hartford Harpoon put on quite a show.
The Hartford Harpoon could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Aaron Goater into a win. Instead, the New Jersey Hitmen prevailed, 4-2, in 12 innings. Goater threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The defeat makes the Harpoon 6-10.
In the top of the 12th, 26-year old right fielder Jing-bo Tsu delivered for New Jersey. That's when he belted a 2-run home run, putting the Hitmen up, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a climactic one.
Tsu said afterward that he hoped the win would galvanize the team.
