Chinook Suffer 3-1 Setback
|
In a low-scoring game between the Sacramento Deltas and the Portland Chinook, pitcher Bill Knight was masterful on the mound. The Sacramento left-hander spearheaded his team's 3-1 win. Juan Otero earned the save for Sacramento, his 4th of the year. The Chinook drop to 5-6 and continue their mediocre start to the 2042 season.
Johnny McDaniel, who led the TRI in doubles with 37 in 2038, chipped in a solo home run for Sacramento in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
