Depredadores del Peravia Rally Past Luchadors de las Calles to Claim 2-1 Series Lead
|
The Bani Depredadores del Peravia nearly wasted a strong game from starter Ricardo Macías, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 9th inning walk-off win over the La Vega Luchadors de las Calles today.
Macías pitched well in the 2-1 win at Depredadoras del Peravia Ballpark. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win allowed Bani to seize a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 Semifinales.
Bani got a knockout punch from Ramiro Romero. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
Romero called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday at La Vega Grounds in La Vega.
