A big day at the plate from third baseman Johnny McDaniel was not enough to keep the Portland Chinook from extending their lead in the Round 1. The Chinook topped McDaniel and the Sacramento Deltas, 4-3, at Devils Ballpark in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. McDaniel went 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss.

Portland needed the clutch hitting of Jackson Wiley to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chinook on top, 4-3. For the game, Wiley had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We put together a nice win," Wiley said.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Kauffman Stadium in Tacoma.
