Steel Dragons Hammered by Jones, Fall Further Behind in R2
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of right fielder Jody Jones, the Kure Arsenal stopped the visiting Kuwana Steel Dragons, 5-1, in Game 2 of the Round 2. Jones belted 3 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring three times for the Arsenal, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Jones had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth to put Kure in front, 4-1. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run off Kuwana pitcher Chris Puddifoot.
"There's nothing like the postseason," said Jones, "to ramp up the pressure."
The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 24th , 2041 at Steelfire Stadium in Kuwana.
