Balloonists Win Divisional
|
David Porris paused momentarily when asked what it means to him to be named MVP of the Divisional.
"It means we're one step closer to winning the Great Northern Cup, as they normally don't give this to players on the losing team," he said with a smile. "I do feel fortunate to win the award though, I had a lot of fun out there."
Porris made his comments only moments after his Gatineau Balloonists had knocked out the Red Deer Kings to advance to the Championship. Gatineau won the final game by a 4-3 count at Ballonists Ballpark and clinched the series 4-2.
Porris had a 0.00 ERA over 13.1 innings pitched, with 14 strikeouts and a 2-0 record.
The Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional finishes.
