Kings Even With Balloonists After Walk-Off Win
|
The Red Deer Kings got a strong game from starter Carlos Torres, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.
The Kings took the 3-2 win over the Gatineau Balloonists in Game 4 of the Divisional in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Torres. Torres threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which brought the Kings into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Red Deer got a knockout punch from Kei Hori. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
After the game, Red Deer manager Michizane Oya applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kings Ballpark in Red Deer.
