Akron Tops Jefferson County Again, 4-3
The Akron Ambers moved to within one game of the Divisional today, downing the visiting Jefferson County Independence at Great Lakes Field by a score of 4-3. Ambers right-hander Jeremy Anderson had a strong outing in which he threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Ambers a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Wild Card.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Ambers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when designated hitter Lucas Fullerton hit a 2-run home run. The home run came off Dave Sherman and made the score 4-2, Ambers. Fullerton was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We haven't stopped playing," Jefferson County manager Román Garza said. "We didn't get this far to give up."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 8th , 2040 at Ballpark of Jefferson County in Louisville.
