Pacos Win Streak Reaches 6

The Puerto Plata Pacos locked up a win at Broad Brook Grounds, knocking off the Port Royal Privateers, 6-1. On the mound for Puerto Plata was left-hander Ichiro Koumura. He played a major role in the triumph. In 7 innings, Koumura surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. The Pacos have now won 6 straight.
Joe Pierson had a big 3-run home run for the Pacos in the bottom of the third inning. With Puerto Plata leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher António Valdéz and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Pacos on top, 5-1.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Pierson told the Puerto Plata Times.
