Punta Cana Beats Port Royal, 4-1

Varick Eubel was nothing short of phenomenal for the Punta Cana Mamajuanas. The 19-year-old left-hander was a big reason his team beat the Port Royal Privateers, 4-1. The winner was Eubel. He threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was António Valdéz. Júlio Costa collected his 16th save.
Punta Cana won the game in part because of Jim Marshall. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mamajuanas ahead, 4-1. For the game, Marshall had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Eubel called the win "an overall solid one."
The Privateers, at 36-44, have lost 5 straight games.
