Hermits Rally Past Scots for 2-1 Series Lead
|
When the games really matter, the Taitung HS Hermits put on their best show, beating the Dunedin HS Scots by a final score of 1-0. Craig Dean threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Taitung HS now leads Dunedin HS 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
The decisive blow was delivered by Cong Lung in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 16-year old left-handed pitcher Nathan Mccarthy to win the game for Taitung HS. The home crowd went nuts.
Scots manager Nathan O'Reilly did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Round 4."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Taitung Ballpark in Taitung.
