Winter Springs HS Wins to Cut DeSoto Central HS Lead to 2-1
The Winter Springs HS Bears have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading DeSoto Central HS Panthers, winning, 4-2, at Field of the Bears. Bears left fielder Jon Baker went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. The win cuts the deficit facing the Bears to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Round 3.

Wally Romero came through for Winter Springs HS when he hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a two-strike fastball to right field, staking his team to a 3-1 lead.

Romero called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Field of the Bears in Winter Springs.
