Vásquez, Panthers Sink Bears Again in Game 2
Behind the big bat of first baseman Juan Vásquez, the DeSoto Central HS Panthers have opened up a healthy early lead in the Round 3. The Panthers topped the Winter Springs HS Bears, 8-0, at DeSoto Central Grounds in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Vásquez belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice to power DeSoto Central HS to victory.

David Fitzpatrick contributed to the DeSoto Central HS win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.

"We've got a great group of guys," Fitzpatrick said, "and we're having fun right now."

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Field of the Bears in Winter Springs.
