Starbursts Advance to USCBA Championship Series
|
The Villanova Starbursts "proved we can handle pressure" by beating the Super Regionals and eliminating the Penn State Pride, according to series MVP Kent González.
"This is the big stage, we're off to the USCBA Championship Series and looking towards the USCBA Championship Series," he said. "There's a lot of pressure at this time of year and it's only going to get more intense from here. But I think we can handle it just fine."
Villanova won the final game 2-1, to wrap up the series 4-2.
González led his team to the series win by putting up a .444 average, with a .524 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The USCBA Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Super Regionals finishes.
