California Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R2
With starter Leonard Smith leading the charge, the California Campaniles defeated the Houston Shastas, 5-4, in Game 3 of the Super Regionals. The left-hander threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball at Ballpark of California to help California take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Marvin Owens came through for California with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. The shortstop went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Owens said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of California in Berkeley.
