The Hermosillo Sols faced a tough opponent in Acapulco pitcher Alejandro Soto, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Zambullidores del Acantilado Ballpark by a final score of 4-2. Soto went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Miguel Franco claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Picking up his 1st save was two-time All-Star Félix Ramírez.
António De Los Santos came through with a big-time hit for Hermosillo. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Hermosillo manager Carlos Pacheco called it "a pretty good win."
The victory makes Hermosillo 1-1.
