Fowler Helps Dunedin HS Take Round 2 Game 1
|
The Dunedin HS Scots started the Round 2 in style, downing the visiting Yeosu HS Porpoises at Dunedin Ballpark by a score of 5-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Scots shortstop Jay Fowler hit 2 home runs.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Fowler delivered big-time for Dunedin HS, stroking a dramatic solo home run off Jeong Kang. The game-changing hit put the Scots on top, 2-1.
"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Dunedin HS Scots (probably) 2042 Round 4 Champions'," Fowler told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dunedin Ballpark in Dunedin.
