When he got to Taitung HS, On Au was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Round 2.
The 15-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Dedado HS Marines, 4-0, in a remarkable performance at Taitung Ballpark. With the win, the Hermits took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 Round 2.
The outcome hung in the balance with one down in the top of the seventh. With a runner on 1st and Dedado HS trailing 1-0, Leonard Ellis hit into a double play. It was a big out for Taitung HS pitcher Lai-hsiang Wang.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Taitung Ballpark in Taitung.
