Chong, Hermits Wallop Marines in Game 3 of R2
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of first baseman Hi-yuan Chong, the Taitung HS Hermits stopped the visiting Dedado HS Marines, 6-1, in Game 3 of the Round 2. Chong was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Hermits, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
Chong had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth to put Taitung HS in front, 3-0. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run off Dedado HS pitcher Wade Huffman.
Taitung HS manager Oscar Olson called it "a good, solid win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Taitung Ballpark in Taitung.
