Tumwater HS Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
Despite a great performance by Billings West HS starter Ken Pruitt, the Tumwater HS Thunderhawks defeated the Lookouts by the score of 3-2 at Ballpark at Billings. Pruitt threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball, but he couldn't prevent the Thunderhawks from moving one game closer to the Round 3. Tumwater HS now leads the Round 2 2-0.
Tumwater HS used a timely hit from Tim Draper to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Thunderhawks ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We haven't stopped playing," Billings West HS manager Rob Peterson said. "We didn't get this far to give up."
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Thunderhawk Field in Tumwater.
