Miller, Ligers Wallop Panthers in Game 2 of R2
|
The Blanchard HS Ligers relied on the hitting of designated hitter Matt Miller to get by the DeSoto Central HS Panthers, 8-2, in Game 2 of the Round 2. For the game, Miller went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 4 and driving in 2. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.
In the top of the first, Mitch Miller ambushed a 2-1 fastball from Freddy Sabastro and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Blanchard HS a quick 2-0 lead.
"Ever since we qualified for the playoffs, the guys have been razzing me about how I'm going to embarrass myself out there," the rookie Miller said with a smile. "I'm glad to prove them wrong, at least for a day."
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, May 7th , 2042 at Ligers Ballpark in Blanchard.
