Villanova Wins to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
|
The Villanova Starbursts defeated the Seton Hall Rampage, 7-5, in Game 3 of the Regionals. Making an impact was third baseman Jake Lee, who went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The win narrows Villanova's deficit in the series to 2-1.
There was more than one reason the Starbursts beat the Rampage, but Lee's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 5-2 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.
"We were a little off-kilter to start the series, but we're getting things figured out now," Villanova manager Bill Hill told reporters. "At least I hope we are."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rampage Stadium in South Orange.
