Rampage Edge Starbursts, 3-2, to Open R1
|
The Seton Hall Rampage faced a tough opponent in Villanova Starbursts pitcher Gordon O'Neil, but did just enough to pull out a win in Game 1 of the Regionals, which they now lead 1-0. The Rampage won, 3-2, at Starbursts Ballpark, despite the Starbursts getting a strong start from left-hander O'Neil, who went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs.
Seton Hall used the hitting of Spencer Scott to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rampage on top, 2-1. For the game, Scott had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
In postgame comments, Scott told the Seton Hall Daily: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Starbursts Ballpark in Lower Merion.
