Penn State Hands East Carolina 6-1 Loss
The Penn State Pride got a strong performance from pitcher Rudolf Verheijen, who stymied the visiting East Carolina Sea Dawgs en route to a win, 6-1, in Game 2 of the Regionals. The Sea Dawgs could never get a bead on the right-handed Verheijen, who threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The Pride now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

José Padilla, the Penn State center fielder, contributed a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 3-0, Pride. For the game, Padilla was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"We aren't quitting," East Carolina manager Tim Bonar said. "Yeah, the odds are definitely in their favor, but they've got to earn it."

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, May 8th , 2042 at Sea Dawgs Ballpark in Greenville.
