Thrice as Nice: Pontificia Universidad On Verge of Sweep after Walk-off Win

A clutch 9th inning gave the Pontificia Universidad Padres a walk-off win over the Chatham-Kent Canada Black Bears and a 3-0 lead in the Round 1 at Pointers Ballpark. Young designated hitter Ricardo Mercado, 21, earned kudos after he went 1-3 with a home run and a walk.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Mercado hit a cutter from Jerry Henshaw for a solo home run. The Padres, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Mercado said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Friday, May 9th , 2042.
