Typhoon Get Past University of Sydney for 1-0 Win
|
The 2042 season is off to a good start for the Taiwan Tech University Typhoon. The hometown Typhoon knocked off the University of Sydney Wallabies, 1-0, at Typhoon Ballpark. Taiwan Tech University pitcher Cheng-en Zhi paced his team to the win. Liu-chun Du earned the save for Taiwan Tech University, his 1st of the year.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when shortstop Tian-yun Xú hit a single. The Typhoon went on to win.
"You don't always need a lot of runs to win," said Zhi. "Sometimes you need just one or two."
