Almost There: Montego Bay HS On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 7-0 Win
The Montego Bay HS Mariners got a strong performance from pitcher Maurice Botting, who stymied the visiting Canuck HS Battlecats en route to a win, 7-0, in Game 4 of the Round 1. The Battlecats could never get a bead on the right-handed Botting, who threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. The Mariners now hold a 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

In the bottom of the third, Montego Bay HS right fielder Micah Stamp had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and two out, Stamp stroked a 2-run home run to right-center. It made the score 2-0, Montego Bay HS. For the game, he went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Botting.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mariners Ballpark in Montego Bay.
