Taitung HS Wins Again, 3-1
|
Their bats were silent and Taitung HS had a rookie on the mound. No problem.
On a day when the Hermits struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 16-year-old starter Kun Chu. The right-hander quieted the Tennoji HS Sensei at The Institute to help Taitung HS take the 3-1 decision and seize a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 1.
Taitung HS used the hitting of Sy-ing Fok to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Hermits on top, 2-0. For the game, Fok had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The rain was definitely not preferable," Chu said. "It worked out fine I guess, but we'll be happy if we see the sun next time."
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, April 29th , 2042 at Taitung Ballpark in Taitung.
