Road Win Lifts Taitung HS to 1-0 Lead in R1
The Taitung HS Hermits wasted no time taking the lead in the Round 1, beating the Tennoji HS Sensei at The Institute by the score of 7-2. The win gives Taitung HS a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Hermits left-hander Wu-sheng Guan threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball.

Taitung HS used a clutch at-bat from Yifu Kim to capture the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hermits ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a humdinger.

"Wu-sheng executed his pitches at a high level," said Taitung HS manager Oscar Olson.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Institute in Osaka.
