Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Devils, 5-3
Lodi HS Devils third baseman Chris Gilmore was the difference-maker at Lodi Grounds, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the Round 1. The Devils took the 5-3 win over the Mankato West HS Reds to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Gilmore had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the fifth for the Devils. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Lodi HS trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run home run.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Gilmore said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, May 2nd , 2042 at Mankato Park in Mankato.
