Thunderhawks Even With Myrmidon After Home Win
The Tumwater HS Thunderhawks and the De La Salle HS Myrmidon will take the Round 1 to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Thunderhawks shut out the Myrmidon, 2-0, at Thunderhawk Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Tumwater HS right-hander Ricardo Gómez did his part. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Thunderhawks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when left fielder Austin Greene hit a run-scoring double. The double came off Chester Barnes and made the score 1-0, Thunderhawks. Greene went 1-4 with a double.

Greene attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thunderhawk Field in Tumwater.
